Whisper is a desktop AI voice assistant that lets you dictate into any app on Mac and Windows and paste clean, formatted text at your cursor. Choose Cloud mode for top accuracy and live web answers, or Local mode to keep audio fully offline with open‑source models. You can ask for rewrites, translations, or screen-aware help, mute background audio while speaking, save style instructions to hotkeys, and keep custom vocabulary so names and acronyms are always spelled right. It strips filler words and can replace selected text in place to speed up everyday writing.
