Prerendered static comments for static websites
Welcomments is a comment system for static site generator based websites such as ones built with Jekyll or Hugo.
It connects to your GitHub repository and commits every incoming comment as a JSON file to your site's _data/ directory. If you're using Netlify, every commit to the main branch triggers a new build, which then regenerates all the posts and comments as static prebuilt HTML. Prebuilt HTML is fast, secure, and SEO-friendly. No ads, no trackers, optional Javascript, and no Disqus-ting stuff!
