Learn a language by ear and talk to a voice tutor
Most language apps teach you to recognize words on a screen. Ether Echo starts with your ears: you hear whole sentences, each adding a new word, and FSRS brings every word back just before you'd forget it. Around thirty words in, a real-time voice tutor starts a conversation with you, built only from words you know, so beginners talk early instead of months later.
Seven languages are available: English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mandarin, and Russian, with the original script shown above a pronounceable reading. Learning is free; the tutor has 30 free minutes with no card required. Available on iOS, Android, and web. Built by two people in Montreal.
