Sketchcase

Whiteboard sticker for your laptop

Sketchcase turns any laptop lid into a portable whiteboard. If you're like me and you have your laptop with you all the time, then you will love using Sketchcase to solve problems, practice coding, discuss solutions, promote a product, brainstorm your ideas, and inspire everyone around you.

I am a software engineer and my team uses whiteboards every day to brainstorm and discuss solutions. However, not everyone can have access to a whiteboard all the time so I created whiteboard stickers for laptops to solve this problem.

I think it's an innovative take on a key tech tool and the actual design looks great. Brilliant!

Nice but will you go after markets meaning other brands of computers? I own a Mac but I know a guy with a Lenovo that would probably buy one he loves whiteboards...

@exlemor thanks for asking. I haven't had the chance to update the website yet but we are supporting any custom sizes up to 15" laptops. This restriction is due to packaging and shipping costs. Here's a sneak peak of the list of laptops and dimensions: https://goo.gl/photos/yJTfK2tjYRvKBvhg7

@charlehan Cool thanks and the Lenovo's are also $14 + shipping?

Also, you 'say' that the adhesive can be removed later without scratches/issues so that leads to questions:

1. can it be removed /put back on multiple times or just once?
2. have you done long term testing because adhesives crystallize/get old and behave very differently over time especially long term... [heat and dryness being one of the issues]...

@exlemor yes, other popular laptops will have similar prices. While you can remove and put back on multiple times, the sticker will lose performance so I would not recommend doing so. What I do is have it on a laptop case so I can simply take off the case or even swap it with another one.

I've used one sticker for over 8 months and had no problems with the adhesive.

@charlehan Cool thanks for the answers.. 8 months is good but i'm talking 3-4 years - we will see ;)

It's an amazing take on whiteboards and I'd love one. Curious, how do you plan on making your business defensible as it seems to me that anyone can make these? Patents maybe?

We're big fans of Sketchcase and have been pleased with how it's been working out so far. The marker that it comes with isn't the best, but there's no sticky residue left on the laptop if you ever take it off and it works like a charm.
