ThumbZ is an instant ride sharing service that matches car drivers having free seats with people who need a lift - if both share the same direction. It works on short notice and in real-time by using GPS and further localization technologies. In addition car onboard systems can be utilized to improve accuracy and easiness of use. The service doesn’t provide an Uber-like ordered pick up. Passengers have to hop on a preset ride provided by matchmaking algorithm which calculates due to preferences and availability. We think the service can extend individual mobility options for short/mid range distances in areas with poor public transportation infrastructure.
