Scout

On street parking made easy

Scout simplifies on street parking by connecting drivers who are leaving a parking spot with those looking for a parking spot.

We're looking for early adopters and beta testers. Beta testers and early adopters will receive 10% off their first listing and/or some free swag.

Interesting, I'm wondering how you plan on reaching scale for the data to be relevant (a la Waze)
It's a good question and definitely a challenge.

The first thing is to provide immediate value and reduce the friction of new signups. This way we don't lose potential users because the app isn't useful, is cumbersome, or breaks frequently. This is why the beta program (sign up on the website) is so important.

The second thing to do is provide alternate modes of utility for the end users. So, yes, there will be user-generated updates and a community that benefits from those updates, but there will also be features that make the app useful without user generated updates. We think these other features will keep the user engaged and using the app frequently.

If you have other questions, feel free to shoot us an email at [email protected]
I'd say start with one city, or even a town. Understand what it will take to provide that seamless transition from one parker to the next.
Basically this is an Uber for parking so you'll need an algo that can dynamically match the nearest person looking for parking to the one leaving the parking. You'll also need to factor in traffic, type of parking, etc. I've seen a number of stratups take a swing at this. I wish you all the best.
