Wave

Share emotions and be listened to

Wave connects you to people who are willing to listen whether you’re having a bad day or a great one. It gets you through the day because you're not alone. You can either listen/help others by trying to understand them or be listened/helped by posting what you feel.

You control who you connect with and talk to people you prefer. And because we experience many emotions throughout the day and what each feels may be different, each connection disappears after 24 hours.

Interesting idea. If this gets a sizeable audience though I'm sure you'll also start to attract bad actors. Do you have a plan in place to deal with this or will you handle it when the time comes?
@marckohlbrugge Thank you for your interest and we appreciate your concern. One way we plan to rectify this problem is to allow users to report bad actors. Initially we plan to monitor manually, but once we have a large scale of audience, we will do it systematically base on past behaviours. Do you feel that this will be a good way to resolve the issue or do you have other suggestions? Please do share your opinion with us as we plan to make Wave a safe environment for all.
@getwavenow The reason I asked is because when I think of the internet it's not necessarily a place where I'd feel comfortable being vulnerable, especially in communities open to anyone. For many online communities bad actors are just a nuisance, but when it comes to people feeling down for example I can see it being more problematic. That said, it's probably quite a pessimistic view of me and probably it's a problem you can tackle along the way.
@marckohlbrugge You're absolutely right, and we do have this concern as well. Additionally, in Wave, users are only able to chat with each other if they are sync, so it kind of discourages such behaviours.
