Building smarter technology, superior design and real security are core goals for our team.

Our engineering organization is building a platform that will scale to process more real time video, audio and sensor data than any consumer product on the market.  This is a massive real­-time data problem that will change the way people connect to physical places.

We are looking for software programmers to join our cloud engineering team where the focus is on designing software to support distributed systems at scale. Our team is at the center of the full software stack here at Canary, providing you with exposure to a variety of technologies and engineering disciplines.

What You'll Be Up To:

• Automating software integration including testing, building, packaging, and deployment.
• Designing and developing systems alongside other software engineering disciplines including: computer vision, embedded, mobile, and data engineering.
• Developing and performing unit and integration testing as well as supporting test environments.
• Troubleshooting and provide solutions for system configurations.
• Improving development and integration process tools.
• Supporting production: providing production support on released software and on integrated messaging software.

What You'll Need To Have:

• A passion for software development with proficiency in at least one software language is a must.
• At least 2+ years experience within a DevOps type role.
• Advanced knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python preferred).
• Working knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux is required.
• Previous hands-on experience of at least one web/cloud service (AWS preferred).
• Development using source control.

Bonus skills:

• MySQL/PostgreSQL management experience highly desired
• Enthusiastic and optimistic mind-set
• Thrive in a start-up style environment
• Experience with:
• Python or other programming language
• Ansible or other configuration automation
