BuzzFeed News is partnering with the Australian Science Media Centre and the Australian National University to bring an ambitious science reporter into our Sydney-based news team for a 12-week fellowship.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. It’s a paid professional development opportunity to work with the head of news and social news reporter in Australia, as well as BuzzFeed’s international science desk, to produce breaking news, social news and video reporting on the science beat.
The successful candidate will have a deep curiosity about all things science and have smart, shareable ideas about how to package the latest scientific news for BuzzFeed’s audience. They will be a self-starter with a track record of exclusive reporting, and will understand the internet’s role in finding and reporting the news.
We’re looking for a team player who is willing to work closely with other members of the Sydney bureau and the wider BuzzFeed News family.
